In the historical and charming village centre of Montegrosso dâ€(TM)Asti, at the very feet of the castle, we find this “tower”-cottage with plenty of authentic details. The cottage is the perfect holiday home with restaurants and bars a few steps away, a balcony with marvellous views and a shared garden. On the ground floor, where you have two separate entrances, we find a living room and kitchen with a working fireplace and ceramic wood burning stove. Fully furnished with authentic early 19th century furniture. Original marble washbasin. Original pavement repositioned after renovation work and original vaulted ceilings with exposed brickwork and original wooden beams. Wooden walnut-staircase to the first floor which holds the bedroom and large bathroom with vaulted exposed brick ceilings and original terracotta floors. The bathroom tiles are handpainted “De Maio” and liberty stile sanitary fittings. Restored terracotta staircase to the second floor were we find a spacious study/lounge with an 18th century reclining sofa bed and wardrobes. All around the most wonderful views over the rooftops and the rolling vineyards towards the magnificent Alpine Range. The roof was completely renovated with the rest of the house in 1998.
